Mustang 4.6 GT

A Pictorial story of my Summer toy

Bought the Car early 2007. I was planning to get a Saleen or Roush but in the event I lost my nerve plus we were just about to buy a home at that time so good sense took over

Immediate modifications were Suspension and Performance

Suspension was improved no end with the addition of the Ford Racing Handling Pack - Springs, shocks, bushings, sway bars, Panhard.  Car is lowered by 1.5" so looks better too

Ford Racing also provided the Cold Air Intake & Exhaust

A couple of videos of it on the rolling road being Dyno'ed following the installation of the "Whipple" Supercharger in Detroit by Alternative-Auto

On the same trip into the States I swapped the wheels out for the 20" TSW Vortex with Nitto 555 rubber. I had to do something, the Ford 17" wheels  just embarrassed themselves every time the Supercharger started lightly puffing

Unfortunately I could only get 91 Octane fuel prior to the install and Dyno so the tune was set specifically for that grade. Lidio, the owner & Tuner 0f "Alternative Auto" gave me additional electronic tune profiles for 93 Octane and also for 110 Octane Race fuel which is what I'm now sourcing

With a conservative tune the motor made 452hp at the Rear wheels (Over 500hp @ the crank) at 11lb boost and an A/F reading of 11.5 across the range on 91Oct. 93Oct will add another 20hp and Race fuel a further 30hp although I'm not likely to ever use Race fuel on the road of course

Another trip to Detroit. This time to CDC to have a few bits done.

The most obvious addition is the GlassBack roof. A bit disconcerting watching somebody chisel a hole in a metal roof, but my faith was well placed and it looks fabulous

While I was there, the guys installed LED Door mirrors, a Stainless Billet Grill & Chin Spoiler

Just prior to the trip I had myself installed some other goodies including

Getting close to the end of the Summer and to the sad time when I have to put the car into Storage to protect it from the Tons of Salt these guys throw on the road, so better get some Autumn Pictures

So the Mustang is up on the Car Lift, Dust cover on, Full tank of fuel, Battery tender humming softly.

Some projects for over the Winter are:

April 2008

FINALLY the weather is good enough to call "Winter over". We were starting to think it would never end, but the snow is gone and the temperatures are on the way up quickly

Just a few things to finish up from the Winter projects, namely video camera systems, but the car is a roller

Some quick pictures snapped one evening this week
